Ridgeview Health Care Center is conveniently located in Central Connecticut serving the Middlesex and Hartford Counties. Its suburban setting at the top of a hillside offers views of the surrounding area. Ridgeview Health Care Center is a skilled care (SNF) facility. We provide a warm, home-like, setting with a highly professional and supportive team that is dedicated to a holistic philosophy. The team is comprised of our nursing staff, certified nursing assistants, rehabilitation therapists, social and recreational staff as well as ancillary personnel.

Short and long term care are available as well as respite and hospice care. Ridgeview has private and semi-private rooms in order to meet the needs of all residents.

Short Term Rehabilitation Services
Ridgeview has an energetic rehabilitation department with a goal of returning residents to the community as soon as possible. Rehab services are available six days a week to meet individual resident needs. A fully operational kitchen provides occupational training for our short term rehabilitation residents. It is also used by our long-term residents for luncheons, suppers and baking their favorite treats. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are provided as ordered by the physician. The physical therapy rooms are equipped with parallel bars, stairs, duplex pulley weight system, shoulder ladder, hydrocollator and ultrasound machine. Whirlpool and hydrosound bathing equipment is provided for therapeutic massaging.

As part of our Continuum of Care program, outpatient rehabilitation services are available for community-bound residents.

Medical Services
Registered Nurses provide 24 hour nursing services. Medications are dispensed by Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses. Residents are supervised and assisted by Certified Nurses' Assistants for all activities of daily living. Every bed is also equipped with an emergency call system.

Ridgeview Health Care Center is credentialed to provide all aspects of care to residents requiring CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). Inhalation and oxygen supplies are provided. Our highly trained staff provides all nursing care services that are required in relationship to the residents’ medical conditions. We provide safe and secure surroundings for all residents. Ridgeview is a smoke free facility, which contributes to a clean and healthy environment. Residents are encouraged to maintain their personal physicians, however if the patient requires a physician, we can recommend physicians from our present medical staff. Podiatry, optometry, dental and audiology services are available at the facility without leaving the premises. Some medical services require an appointment outside the facility and we can assist with necessary transportation needs. Ridgeview utilizes specialized taxi services, ambulances, and our own facility vehicle.

Dining
Great emphasis is placed on the quality and freshness of our food services. Alternative choices are always available. The food manager meets with every resident to review their likes and dislikes so that individual preferences will always be met.
Dietary requirements of our residents as well as personal tastes are monitored by our Food Service Supervisor. A consultant dietician directs all aspects of dining services to ensure the needs of the residents are therapeutically achieved.

Recreational Activities
The Recreational Program Director coordinates a wide variety of activities for our residents. Trips are organized to local shopping centers and parks. Some of our activities include five day a week exercises, arts and crafts, games and musical programs. Religious services are offered for all denominations.

Residents who are unable to participate in group programs are visited individually by the Therapeutic Recreation Director. Residents are assisted with reading and writing of letters, if necessary. Other activities include Pet Therapy, monthly birthday parties, cooking, outside nature walks, travelogues and resident council.

Social Services
A Social Service Designee is available to provide assistance and support to new residents and their families during the admission process. Questions related to finances and insurance can be directed to the social worker

Accommodations
Residents are provided with: a bed, nightstand, comfortable chair, closet and bureau storage. They are encouraged to bring their favorite items from home, such as family photos, an afghan or rocking chair. Television sets and radios can also be brought from home with the approval of the Ridgeview authority.

Our spacious one and two-bedroom apartments look and feel like private homes. They include stackable washer/dryers with free maintenance; safety call bells; ceramic tile baths and carpeting throughout, in Cape style settings. We sponsor four community outings each year to make life at Ridgeview fun and entertaining.
